Which airlines fly Umrah routes from Pakistan?
| Airline | Type | Lands in | Good to know |
| PIA | Full service | Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, Dammam | Widest choice of Pakistani departure cities |
| Saudia | Full service | Jeddah, Madinah | Saudi national airline, also carries Hajj pilgrims from Pakistan |
| Airblue | Full service, fare bundles | Jeddah, Madinah | Compare bundles, the cheapest may carry less checked baggage |
| AirSial | Full service | Jeddah, Madinah | Direct flights from Multan and Sialkot as well as the big cities |
| flyadeal | Low cost | Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh | Saudia's low-cost airline, runs direct Karachi to Madinah flights |
All four of PIA, Saudia, Airblue and AirSial were picked to fly Pakistan's official Hajj pilgrims in 2026, so they know the pilgrim routes well. If no direct seat suits you, Gulf airlines like Qatar Airways and Emirates fly with one stop on the way.
Umrah travellers can also land at any Saudi international airport, including Riyadh and Dammam. That helps if a direct Jeddah or Madinah seat is sold out, but you will then need road or rail travel to Makkah.
Umrah flights from your city
Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore have the most flights to Saudi Arabia, followed by Multan, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Quetta. These were also the main departure cities for Pakistan's Hajj flights in 2026.
| From | Airport | Direct to | Book |
| Lahore | LHE | Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh | Lahore to Jeddah flights |
| Karachi | KHI | Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, Dammam | Umrah flights |
| Islamabad | ISB | Jeddah, Madinah | Umrah flights |
| Multan | MUX | Jeddah, Madinah | Umrah flights |
| Sialkot | SKT | Jeddah, Dammam | Umrah flights |
| Peshawar | PEW | Jeddah, Riyadh | Umrah flights |
| Faisalabad | LYP | Jeddah | Umrah flights |
Multan to Jeddah alone has direct flights from AirSial, Airblue, PIA and Saudia across the week. If you live in south Punjab, flying from Multan saves you the drive to Lahore.
The flight from Pakistan to Jeddah is roughly 4 to 5 hours, depending on your city and route.
Note for the team: confirm the "Direct to" column against live schedules before publishing, and swap "Umrah flights" links for the city route pages once they are live.
Should you fly to Jeddah or Madinah first?
Pick Jeddah if you want to do Umrah first. Pick Madinah if you want to visit Masjid an-Nabawi first and do Umrah later in the trip.
| Land in Jeddah | Land in Madinah | |
| Umrah | Straight away, Makkah is about an hour by road | Later, after your days in Madinah |
| Ihram | Wear it before or during the flight | Not needed on the flight |
| Best for | Short trips, Umrah as the main goal | Families, longer trips, a calmer start |
| Return | Often fly home from Madinah | Often fly home from Jeddah |
Many travellers book an open-jaw ticket: land in one city and fly home from the other. It saves a long road trip back at the end. The Haramain train also links Madinah, Jeddah and Makkah.
Wearing Ihram on an Umrah flight
If you fly to Jeddah, you must be in Ihram before the plane crosses the Miqat. Jeddah lies inside the Miqat boundary, so you cannot wait until you land.
- Change into Ihram at home or at the airport in Pakistan. Changing in a small plane toilet is hard.
- Do not make the intention (niyyah) yet if you want to avoid Ihram restrictions during check-in.
- The crew usually announces when the plane nears the Miqat. Make your niyyah and start the Talbiyah then.
- Keep a small bag with your Ihram, unscented soap and slippers in your hand luggage.
If you fly to Madinah first, you put on Ihram later at the Madinah Miqat, Dhul Hulaifah, on your way to Makkah. For any rulings, ask a scholar you trust.
Zamzam water rules on the flight home
Each pilgrim on an Umrah or Hajj visa can bring home one 5-litre bottle of Zamzam. Saudi rules are strict about how it travels.
- Buy only the official sealed bottle from the King Abdullah Zamzam project, sold at Jeddah and Madinah airports
- One 5-litre bottle per pilgrim, packed in its cardboard box
- Do not pack Zamzam inside your suitcase or carry it in the cabin
- Small half-litre or one-litre bottles are taken away at the airport
Many airlines carry the bottle free on top of your baggage allowance, but some count it inside your allowance. Check with your airline before you fly so you are not charged for extra weight.
Baggage on Umrah flights
Baggage depends on the airline and the fare you buy, not on the route. Before you pay, check three things on the fare details:
- Checked bag weight, and whether it is one piece or a total weight
- Hand bag limit, usually 7 kg
- Whether Zamzam is extra or counted in your allowance
Pack light on the way out. Most pilgrims come home with prayer mats, dates and gifts, so leave room in your bag.
Documents you need for an Umrah flight
You cannot board an Umrah flight without a valid Saudi visa. Pakistani passport holders cannot apply for the Umrah visa themselves on Nusuk. It has to go through a licensed Umrah operator in Pakistan.
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from your entry date, with two blank pages
- Umrah visa, issued only after your hotel and transport are booked in Nusuk
- Meningitis (MenACWY) vaccination certificate
- Return ticket and hotel booking printouts
The Umrah visa is now valid for 30 days from issue, and you must enter Saudi Arabia within that time. Book your flight dates around the visa, not the other way round. This season's last Umrah visas are due to be issued on 9 March 2027.
Once in Saudi Arabia, you also need an Umrah permit in the Nusuk app before you perform Umrah.
When to book Umrah flights from Pakistan
Book as early as you can for Ramadan, school holidays and the weeks around Eid. These are the busiest times, and direct seats to Jeddah and Madinah fill first.
- Ramadan: the most wanted time for Umrah. Ramadan 2027 is expected to start in early February 2027, so plan your visa and flights by December.
- Winter school holidays (December) and summer (June to July): families travel together, so fares and demand rise.
- Quieter months: outside these peaks, you get more choice of dates and airlines.
Plan your flight and visa together. With the 30-day visa, booking flights too far from your visa date can leave you stuck.
